KNX lighting control provides an open, flexible and scalable approach to intelligent lighting automation for residential, commercial and institutional buildings. Lighting That Works With the Building
One of the major advantages of KNX is the ability to coordinate lighting with other building functions.
A KNX presence sensor, for example, can simultaneously provide information for lighting, HVAC and energy-management functions. Motorized shades can respond to solar conditions while lighting automatically adjusts to maintain the desired illumination level. When a room becomes unoccupied, KNX can reduce lighting, adjust HVAC operation and initiate an energy-saving mode.
Lighting can be controlled according to occupancy, daylight levels, schedules, scenes, temperature, building operating modes and other system conditions.

KNX lighting systems can range from a single room to large multi-zone buildings. Distributed KNX intelligence allows sensors, keypads, actuators, dimmers and controllers to communicate directly across the KNX network, while KNX IP can provide a high-speed backbone for larger installations.
System configuration through ETS (Engineering Tool Software) provides professional integrators with a standardized engineering environment for commissioning and maintaining KNX installations.
